The comrades pushed a young recruit out of a helicopter, supposedly to mock her and teach her a lesson, without even imagining what was about to happen to them…
When 24-year-old Kate first arrived at the military base, many thought she wouldn’t last long.
She was one of the top graduates from the military academy, a sharpshooter, a quick decision-maker, and never afraid to take responsibility. Yet, it was precisely this that quickly earned her the hostility of several comrades.
Three soldiers in her unit particularly disliked her.
For several years, they had been considered the unofficial leaders of the base. New recruits avoided standing up to them, and some officers preferred to turn a blind eye to their actions.
Everything changed two months after Kate’s arrival.
During a night watch, the young woman happened to notice these soldiers taking military equipment out of the warehouse to sell it through a contact.
At first, she couldn’t believe her eyes.
For several days, Kate gathered evidence before passing all the information on to command.
The investigation confirmed her statements.
As a result, one of the sergeants received a disciplinary sanction, two soldiers had their bonuses withheld, and several others were assigned to the most arduous tasks.
From that day on, their hatred for her only grew.
They called her a snitch, tried to trap her at every opportunity, and constantly sought a way to get revenge.
However, they couldn’t do anything openly.
A few weeks later, the unit was sent on an exercise to a mountainous region.
Several groups were to be dropped off near a remote training base.
That was precisely where the military helicopter was headed that day.
The weather was magnificent.
Below stretched mountains, forests, and a vast lake nestled between cliffs.
The soldiers sat along the sides of the aircraft, preparing to disembark.
Kate was near the open door of the helicopter.
One of her enemies kept exchanging glances with his comrades.
From their expressions, it was clear they were planning something.
At one point, one of the soldiers approached and gave her a mocking smile.
“So, heroine, enjoying your service?” he asked sarcastically.
Kate didn’t reply.
Then a second soldier shoved her abruptly on the shoulder.
The young woman lost her balance and nearly fell into the void. She managed to grab hold of a metal handle near the door with one hand.
“What are you doing?! I don’t have a parachute!” she cried.
The helicopter continued on its way.
The wind was literally pulling her out.
Instead of helping her, the men burst out laughing.
“Relax, nothing’s going to happen to you,” one of them said.
Kate was desperately trying to climb back on board.
Her fingers were already starting to slip off the handle.
That’s when one of the soldiers stepped forward and kicked her again.
The kick landed squarely on her hand. The young woman couldn’t hold on any longer. Her grip gave way.
For a second, she hung in mid-air, then she plummeted. Her scream was quickly drowned out by the sound of the rotor blades.
The soldiers looked down and laughed. No regrets. One of them even went so far as to say that no one would complain about them to their superiors anymore.
They were convinced that everything had ended exactly as they had planned. None of them imagined what would happen next.
The fall was terrible.
Kate fell directly toward the surface of the immense mountain lake.
The impact with the water was so violent that the young woman lost consciousness for a few seconds.
She suffered numerous contusions, a dislocated shoulder, and several fractures.
But miraculously, she survived.
She was discovered by fishermen who were on the other side of the lake.
They immediately called for help.
A few hours later, Kate was already in the hospital.
When she regained consciousness, she recounted everything that had happened to investigators in detail.
At first, her comrades denied any responsibility.
They claimed the recruit had simply slipped near the helicopter door.
However, the investigation quickly revealed a very different reality.
Surveillance cameras were installed on board.
Furthermore, several soldiers from another unit had witnessed the incident.
A few months later, the case went to court.
In the courtroom, the defendants no longer seemed so sure of themselves.
When the prosecutor presented the helicopter video recording, it became clear that they would have no way of justifying themselves.
But even then, they continued to make excuses.
One of the defendants stated that no one had intended to kill the young woman.
According to him, they knew there was a lake beneath the helicopter.
Another soldier claimed it was just a joke that had gone wrong.
The third insisted that he simply hadn’t thought about the consequences.
However, the judge reminded them of a simple truth.
A person without a parachute should never find themselves outside a helicopter in flight, whether there is water below or not.
Any reasonable person understands that such a fall can be fatal.
Ultimately, the three men were found guilty of attempted murder of a fellow student and abuse of authority.
They were sentenced to actual prison terms.
